"Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached the top. Then you will see how low it was."

DAG HAMMARSKJOLD

Growing up in Arizona, I enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially hiking and backpacking. Over the years, I've continued to find pleasure in the outdoors; the Adirondacks in New York, the Sierras in California, the south island of New Zealand.

Having an active Hungarian Vizsla in the family means that my routine includes early morning walks and weekend hikes.

With nearly 100 dives in my log book, I enjoy recreational dive trips to places like the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. One of my favorite dive sites is Bloody Bay Wall off Little Cayman Island. Underwater photography adds a challenging dimension to diving for me.

For years I have provided training and leadership in security, logistics, and front entry procedures for some of the largest food and beverage tasting events in San Francisco.

As a graduate of the California Culinary Academy's professional certificate program, I enjoy trying out my culinary skills on friends and family.

An interest in fine wine has taken me to most of the appellations of California, Oregon and Washington. Course work through UC Berkeley Extension and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust has expanded my knowledge and appreciation of wine.
